Project Scope

Graycor completed construction of Toyota’s new vehicle assembly plant built on 1,700 acres. The environmentally sensitive project, for which recycled materials were used in the construction, was completed by Graycor|Harrell, a joint venture partnership between Graycor and Harrell Contracting Group.

The team, which initially completed foundations work on site, subsequently handled the 130,000-square-foot press, 190,000-square-foot ED weld and 210,000-square-foot paint buildings portion. The utilities zone project included construction of an 18,000-square-foot process utilities and equipment building. Additionally, the team completed an interior build-out of the plant’s cafeteria.

The project also included the construction of a 40,000-square-foot shop/office foundations building.

The Blue Springs plant, Toyota’s eighth assembly plant built in the U.S., produced the Corolla.
