Project Scope

In 2016, Kerasotes sought to proceed with their vision of taking the ShowPlace ICON concept to urban areas across the country in a national multi-theatre expansion program, a plan that had been in the works since 2010. The theatre operator selected Graycor as their construction partner to transform movie going with its luxury, state-of-the-art experience for six cities, coast-to-coast.

Ranging from 10 to 16 screens, the theatres offer similar upscale amenities that are in line with the ShowPlace ICON brand including heated luxury recliners, floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screens, digital laser projection and Dolby surround 7.1 sound. The ICON-X premium large format theatres include VIP seating options, 4K Laser Projection and Dolby ATMOS immersive sound. Additionally, the lobby lounges feature upscale restaurants with full bars serving up artisan dishes, craft beer and specialty cocktails.

The ShowPlace ICON at The Boro in Tysons Corner in Tysons, Virginia is the fourth theatre to be completed as part of this expansion program. The 79,000-square-foot, 14-screen theatre at this mixed-use development features state-of-the-art cinematic technology, luxury reclining seats and delectable dining.
