Project Scope

Graycor Industrial constructed an eighth cryogenic plant to join MarkWest Energy Partners’ Sherwood Processing Facility where Graycor also built Sherwood VII, a 200-MMscf/d cryogenic gas processing plant.

The scope of work to build Sherwood VIII’s 200-MMscf/d cryogenic unit included civil, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical, as well as construction of two substations (a mini and a large to support Units 8 and 9). Graycor’s team self-performed civil work, equipment setting, steel erection, and piping fabrication and installation. Startup and commissioning were also included in the project’s work scope.

As part of a third project performed at the Sherwood complex, Graycor’s team supplied and installed an interconnecting inlet pipe rack and associated piping, tying together MarkWest’s pipeline and existing cryogenic units on the site.
