Project Scope

Graycor completed a design-build distribution center for MiTek Industries in Tolleson, Arizona. The project required site development of a 16.79-acre farm for the new construction and included all earthwork, building pad and partial site lime treatment, site utilities, grading, paving & landscaping. Roadwork included creating a new Lincoln Drive and add an eastern half to the existing 79th Avenue.

Construction of the 259,812 square feet included reinforced concrete slab on grade, concrete tilt-up panels, hybrid wood and steel panelized roofing with Firestone TPO and MEP warehouse distribution. This also included a 9,724-square-foot office buildout consisting of metal stud & drywall walls, MEP distribution, casework, restrooms, break room, acoustical ceilings, and finishes.

MiTek, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., supplies engineered products and services for the building components industry. The new facility nearly doubled the size of its Phoenix plant which is involved in manufacturing and distribution for the Missouri-based company. MiTek is relocating from a 130,000-square-foot space at 212 S. 37th St. in Phoenix.
