Project Scope

Graycor provided design-build services for the interior renovation of Katy Mills Mall, a Texas outlet mall featuring over 200 specialty stores. Updates include a refreshed dining pavilion, restrooms, interior entrances and signage, as well as new finishes throughout the mall concourse.

The design intent was to upscale and simplify Katy Mills from the existing busy, multi-colored 1990’s décor and dated FF&E. New finishes include floor tile, refinished wood flooring, polished concrete floor, lighting, wall/ceiling paint, interior wayfinding signage and ceiling fabric clouds. The project brought neutral colors reflected in the ceramic tile, ceiling and wall paint and added modern accent colors to seating areas. Featured entry and concourse skylights are adorned with modern metallic bead curtains that are illuminated with warm LED Lighting.

Wayfinding signage was replaced with new subway-inspired signage directing the public to anchor tenants and mall entrances. Ahead of each mall entrance, new large illuminated entry nodes were constructed to orient the public upon their arrival. The food court was transformed to a Dining Pavilion with placemaking signage, wood grain ceiling clouds, pendant lighting and new FF&E.
