Project Scope

Graycor provided design-build services for FedEx Ground’s new 303,412-square-foot small package delivery and sorting facility in Rialto, California. The facility handles in-bound and out-bound critical, time-sensitive packages that are transported to and from the sort facility via over-the-road semi-trailer and double trailer trucks. Other operational functions are to include temporary package holding, vehicle maintenance, indoor-overnight vehicle storage and office functions.

The concrete tilt wall facility has a wood hybrid roof system. The project also included the construction of a separate maintenance garage with a fuel island and a guard house. The center sits on approximately 37 acres. Off-site construction included of a traffic signal, street improvements along the frontage of the building and sewer and drainage systems throughout the property.

The automated sorting facility is serviced by up to 134 FedEx Ground vans and 111 FedEx Home Delivery vans.
