Project Scope

Graycor provided design-build services for a solar renewables project as part of Cedars-Sinai’s new Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion. The solar carport system is a 250 kilowatt, alternating current photovoltaic solar system housed on the 26,000-square-foot top level of the fourth parking deck of the medical center.

Graycor identified and targeted the solar market as an attractive market niche in which it could leverage its expertise. The project team included IDS Group for the structural design, Stellar Solar for the electric design and HOK for the architectural design. Cedars-Sinai is one of the largest academic medical centers in the nation recognized for the highest quality patient care, and for its innovative research and education programs that continue to make significant contributions to medicine and science. In the 2012-13 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Cedars-Sinai was named one of America’s best hospitals.
