DDR selected Graycor as the general contractor to complete the façade renovation of Abernathy Square. Four new tower elements were added and the store fronts were refreshed. Changes were not all cosmetic, though. The exterior light fixtures were replaced, and both the Exterior Insulation and Finish System and all timber trusses were inspected and painted, with repairs made as needed.

The project was completed in seven phases to keep the retail tenants open throughout the duration of construction. Graycor’s planning took into consideration traffic and pedestrian control, with special attention to public safety and curiosity for the building of the towers over the existing occupied spaces.
