Project Scope

Graycor was the general contractor for a ground-up, 6,000-square-foot indoor skydiving facility in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. The new two-story building and precast wind tower are supported by pipe piles driven approximately 90 feet below grade, as well as a deep basement surrounded by a steel earth retention system. The wind turbines, located on top of the precast tower, push air down into a 30-foot-deep basement. Through detailed engineering, the wind is directed back up to a radius opening, which allows the final skydiving experience.
