Guests of this year’s Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Chicago Muscle Team Gala rubbed elbows with some of Chicago’s most celebrated athletes, while raising more than $633,000 to help children and adults who suffer from neuromuscular disease.

Continuing its sponsorship participation over the past several years, Graycor once again helped sponsor the event, held on Friday, Oct. 27, through the company’s Community Fund Program.

In its ninth year, the Muscle Team® Gala took place at the Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois—just minutes from Graycor’s home office—to support groundbreaking research to find treatments and cures and provide life-changing support for families with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases.

The gala, which was emceed by NFL Network’s Kay Adams, included a live performance by the Chicago 6 featuring band members and 1985 Super Bowl Championship Bears players Dan Hampton, Otis Wilson and Steve McMichael. Special guests also included Chicago Blackhawks legend Denis Savard and numerous children with muscular dystrophy.

Dan Kilgore, MDA Muscle Team committee member and vice president of Graycor Industrial, states, “It’s a privilege to be a part of MDA’s mission to help find a cure. It was humbling to interact with these amazing children.” Dan attended with his wife Radoica, as well as Ted Vrehas, vice president of Graycor Industrial, and his wife Kathy, and Tim Mielke, chief estimator for Graycor Industrial.
