Graycor Construction has completed the interior build-out and façade renovation of the DICK’S Sporting Goods store at Brass Mill Commons in Waterbury, Connecticut. Brookfield Properties which owns the shopping center renovated the former Toys R’ Us location for the sporting goods retailer. The store features a new sales floor, stockroom, restroom and offices.

“This store was built in compliance with the retailer’s standards, reflective of its image and reputation and we could not be more pleased,” says JR Willard, Manager of Construction Projects with Dick’s Sporting Goods. “The Graycor team was excellent in communicating and adapting during the project which led to a successful build from start to finish.”

“DICK’S Sporting Goods is a leader in the sporting goods retail industry,” says Jyot Parmar, Construction Manager with Graycor Construction. “Graycor is honored to have delivered a store that represents the high level of quality one would expect from a DICK’S store and offers the best shopping experience for its customers.”

The renovation included installation of new wall and floor finishes, signage, sales floor fixtures, stockroom racking and MEP infrastructure. Additional work included complete exterior renovations of the existing façade, including a new storefront system, brick finishes, a new canopy and exterior signage. The new façade required structural work to reinforce the existing steel to support new mechanical equipment and façade.

FRCH Nelson served as the architect on the project.
