Quality
Standards of Quality
In our quest for quality, our most recent accomplishment is our ISO 9000 registration. We are currently one of a handful of U.S. contractors to achieve this distinction. This honor was granted to us by the International Organization of Standardization, which is an organization that documents processes, procedures and assessment methods for service providers, and sets quality standards accordingly. Increasingly, major corporations such as Ford Motor Company and U.S. Steel, longtime Graycor clients, prefer ISO registration of their service providers. To maintain ISO registration, we will receive implementation audits every six months at our headquarters and selected field sites.
Our core business is built on establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients and striving to provide the highest quality construction services. Based on client feedback, Graycor forms continuous improvement process (CIP) teams and reviews internal business practices. Our responsiveness to performance issues is a key component to Graycor's business model.
We are also authorized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to construct power boilers, pressure piping and unfired pressure vessels. In addition, National Board authorization allows us to repair and alter boilers and unfired pressure vessels. In accordance with the programs designed by these organizations, all of our business processes are conducted with formally defined operating procedures. Part of this program addresses project-specific quality assurance programs. Upon award of a project, our construction team and quality assurance department evaluate the customer’s technical documents, the applicable construction codes and our construction plan.
In addition, a site-specific quality plan is also prepared. The plan identifies critical construction activities, associated measurable attributes and assigned responsibilities for verification of these attributes throughout the project. This plan is reviewed with the owner’s team to assure that the expectations of all parties are satisfied prior to initiating site construction activities.
We are committed to excellence and ongoing quality improvement, a business practice which dates back many decades. Our clients deserve the best service available, and we will accept nothing less of ourselves.
