Graycor Construction is the general contractor for the redevelopment of the former Lord & Taylor anchor store at Oakbrook Center. The grade level will be converted into multiple retail/restaurant tenant spaces, the upper level will be prepared for future tenant use and the basement will be converted into storage space and MEP infrastructure.
The existing building interior, exterior partitions and MEP systems will be demolished, leaving the original steel and concrete structure. The existing structure will then be reinforced and a new opening will be created in the slab for stairs. The MEP system will be replaced to accommodate the new intended uses and the loading dock will be expanded to two bays. The exterior façade will also be replaced with sections left as exterior sheathing for new tenant branding.
