HOMEWOOD, IL (January 2009) – As host of the Zero Injury Safety Awards Dinner on Oct. 29, 2008, the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee (NMAPC) presented Graycor Industrial Constructors Inc. with a Zero Recordable Injury Certificate of Merit Award earned in 2007. The event, held at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., was designed to recognize world-class safety and represent the culmination of millions of hours worked without a recordable injury under the governance and cooperation of the NMAPC's program. Graycor Industrial received a Certificate of Merit, along with Ameren Corporation and the West Central Illinois Building Trades Council, in recognition of having performed 192,322 work hours with zero recordable injuries: in Category B for the NMAPC project at Ameren's Duck Creek plant in Canton, Ill.

"We reached our goal basically by participation and commitment by everybody," said Doug Zwaga, senior safety representative, Graycor Industrial. "It’s not something you get with just a few people pushing it. It takes commitment from the whole team and from every worker on site," he said.
