HOMEWOOD, IL (April, 2009) — Graycor Inc., a leading construction services firm with more than one billion dollars in construction projects underway throughout North America, announces the appointment of Georgia Nelson to Graycor’s board of directors. Nelson is president and CEO of PTI Resources, LLC and also serves as a board director for Cummins Inc., Nicor Inc., and Ball Corporation.

After a 35-year career with Edison International, Nelson retired in 2005, having founded the $3-billion electricity generation wholesaler Midwest Generation EME, LLC (an Edison International company) and served as president since its 1999 inception. She also held the position of general manager of Edison Mission Energy Americas since 2002, for which she was responsible for a large number of the company’s power generating facilities throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Nelson has been appointed by the Secretaries of Energy in the last three administrations to the Executive Committee of the National Coal Council, a federal advisory committee to the U.S. Department of Energy, and she served as Chair of the Council from May 2006 to May 2008.

Previously, Nelson held the position of senior vice president of worldwide operations for Edison Mission Energy where she was responsible for worldwide power plant construction. Additionally, Nelson was responsible for international environmental, fuel and technical policy as well as plant personnel and operations on four continents. She previously spent more than 25 years with Southern California Edison, a large U.S. electric utility, where she was also a senior executive.

Nelson holds an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.S. from Pepperdine University. She is a trustee of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and serves on the advisory committee of the Center for Executive Women at Northwestern University. Nelson is a member of The Commercial Club of Chicago, The Economic Club of Chicago and The Chicago Network. She formerly served on the Women’s Advisory Board of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University.
