Toyota expands West Virginia plant.

BUFFALO, WV (February 2007) — Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, N.A. Inc. (TEMA) selected Graycor Industrial Constructors to perform a 150,000-square-foot expansion at the automaker’s Buffalo, W.Va., powertrain operations plant.

The project – named TMMWV 587F ZR Expansion – was completed in February, one week ahead of schedule. Work consisted of the building shell and all utilities for a process connection, including site work.

The expanded engine plant, at 1.2 million square feet on 230 acres, currently manufactures powertrains for six different Toyota models and supplies all four of Toyota’s existing North American vehicle plants.

Previously, Graycor Industrial performed a 315,000-square-foot expansion to the West Virginia plant. Graycor has also completed several major projects for Toyota at its facilities in Huntsville, Ala.; Fremont, Calif.; Princeton, Ind.; San Antonio, Texas; and Tecate, B.C., Mexico.
