(Graycor Blasting), a subsidiary of the Graycor family of companies, is proud to introduce grit blasting to their expanding line of industrial cleaning services in addition to Graycor Blasting's services for cleaning industrial equipment, including hydroblasting and industrial vacuum services.
Grit blasting is the preferred cleaning method for situations when water is not the best option, such as in electrostatic precipitators. In settings that require abrasives, grit blasting achieves the desired level of cleaning or surface preparation.

"Many of our long term customers asked Graycor Blasting to add grit blasting services and we responded. Graycor Blasting pioneered online blasting; a form of blasting that does not require the boiler to be completely down, which is more cost effective. "Graycor Blasting is not constrained by conventional methods and current offerings, we are constantly innovating to meet client needs," says Smith.
Standard grit blasting services include removing fly ash from collecting plates and wires of electrostatic precipitators; removing slag and scale buildup from boiler walls, pendants, duct work and hoppers; preparing surfaces for painting or re-coating, welding repair and tube replacement. There are several variations of grit blasting applications including sand, walnut shells, dry ice and Black Beauty™, a crushed slag material. Each project is evaluated and the proper grit blasting application is recommended. Graycor Blasting also offers emergency grit blasting services, when maintenance outages are not an option.
