For the second consecutive year, team members from Graycor Construction Company will participate in the Tough Mudder obstacle course event to raise money for a charitable organization. This year, the company will have more than 50 participants from the Oakbrook Terrace, Charlotte, Phoenix and San Jose offices who will tackle the 10-12-mile course in Rockford, IL on Saturday, August 26, 2017, with the goal of raising $50,000 for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

“The Tough Mudder has allowed us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Through this shared experience, employees from across the country are creating lasting bonds while demonstrating we can accomplish so much more as a team!” says Jason Seiler, Estimator and Graycor Tough Mudder Team Captain. “We are proud to support Team Reeve through this year’s Tough Mudder event affording us the opportunity to bring awareness to and make a difference in the lives of those living with paralysis.”

Last year, 17 Graycor employees raised $12,928 for The Organization for Autism Research, one of the top amounts raised for the 2016 National Tough Mudder organization. This year, The Graycor Community Fund Program is pledging a minimum of $10,000, with the potential to match up to $10,000 more based on employee fundraising, creating a possible total of $20,000 donated by the company. The fundraising kicked off with luncheons held in all offices on May 18, with members of the Reeve Foundation team flying in from New Jersey to join in at Graycor’s Headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace. “We are thrilled Graycor has selected to partner with the Reeve Foundation as they participate in the Tough Mudder challenge. Corporate-sponsored programs are vital to advance our mission and raise awareness for individuals living with paralysis,” said Frank Mascia, Vice President of Development, Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. “Graycor for Team Reeve represents one of the most significant corporate fundraising opportunities for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Their support will truly transform lives, accelerating the development of treatments and therapies for spinal injury.”

Tough Mudder is 10-12 miles of mud and 20+ obstacles designed to drag mudders out of their comfort zone. With no podiums, winners, or clocks to race against, Tough Mudder isn’t about how fast one can cross the finish line. It’s about teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something extraordinary. The Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy. There are 5.4 million Americans — nearly 1 in 50 people — living with some form of paralysis. These individuals, and their families and caregivers, are the driving force behind the work of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
