Graycor Industrial Safety
We believe errors are avoidable because our teams have accomplished major self-performance projects without a single injury. Our "Zero Injury" goal is the challenge every one of us aims to achieve every time we step foot on site.
To ensure this goal stays top of mind, we have established leading indicator metrics to enable every manager to evaluate the safety of their worksites. In addition, CEO Mel Gray and the entire executive team personally conduct personally lead executive on-site audits every month.
Safety beyond the site.
Graycor prides itself on the professionalism of its full-time safety staff and organizational dedication to employee training. A wide range of safety and health training is conducted on an ongoing basis at our headquarters. Strict work rules include disciplinary measures from written warnings to suspension or even termination. These rules are discussed with every employee during project-specific safety orientations and meetings. And when violations occur, enforcement is swift, certain and significant without exception. We also believe this professionalism should be personal to every one of us. So, we don’t leave it to our safety staff. We have implemented two primary programs.
Monday Morning Calls are weekly safety-status check-ins with the president of Graycor Industrial. When issues arise, the situation is examined, discussed and addressed in detail. This ensures safety remains our highest priority.
Graycor’s Committee of 10 is a rotating committee of people drawn from all parts of the company. This group tackles the very real challenges of improving and perfecting the way we work, our worksites and the equipment we use. It makes each of us part of the process.
Safety is not just a buzzword at Graycor — it's a way of life.
