Emergency response services were required to return a railcar dumper to its center position, set the car back on its rails until temporary rails could be installed. The dumper was righted, all severely damage structural repairs and replacement of cables and alignment were made operational.

Graycor mobilized in less than 24 hours after receiving authorization from Midwest Generation to proceed. The dumper was operational 15 days after the incident with some aspects of it operating better than before. The work was especially challenging because the dumper contained a railcar at the time, which created a dangerous situation in the way the equipment was positioned while Graycor was raising and setting it. The project was completed without any safety incidents.
