Graycor Industrial recently completed construction of a new frame sequencing center for Monterrey, Mexico-based Metalsa. The new facility, which will house complete truck frames manufactured in Mexico, is located in the supplier park within Toyota’s new San Antonio, Texas, assembly plant (Graycor completed construction of the paint and general stores building, as well as the utility zone, for Toyota’s new plant).
Work on Metalsa’s project included erection of a 98,290-square-foot pre-engineered building, in addition to site work, roads, a parking lot, underground utilities, excavation, concrete, masonry, building supply/erection/interior build-out as well as mechanical and electrical systems.
Challenges on the project included an aggressive 20-week schedule, which left only seven weeks after erection of the pre-engineered building to complete most of the mechanical and electrical installation as well as to complete the final build-out of the office. The Graycor Industrial team extended its work hours to meet the schedule deadline.
