Graycor Construction constructed the south parcel of The Promenade Bolingbrook – a new shopping destination located in Bolingbrook, Ill., a western suburb of Chicago. The Promenade Bolingbrook is a 1.1-million-square-foot open-air regional lifestyle center on two separate pieces of undeveloped land (the south and north parcels) that will be linked to form a seamless shopping destination covering more than 120 acres.
Graycor Construction’s work, for Cleveland-based developer Forest City Enterprises, consists of building an open-air regional lifestyle center to house a department store, fine arts theater, and various locally and nationally known retail tenants including anchor Macys. The south parcel’s buildings – nine in total – will feature architectural elements such as a signature tower and structural archways. The north parcel will include retailers such as IKEA, Bed Bath Beyond and Staples. Graycor onstruction is also building a Bass Pro shop as part of the center.
In addition to site improvements, Graycor Construction is performing significant infrastructure work to widen Boughton Road, a major thoroughfare to the center. Site improvements for future phases of retail, restaurant, hotel and car dealership parcels are also included in the project.
