Graycor Construction built this 436,000-square-foot turkey processing plant for The Louis Rich Co. (a subsidiary of Oscar Mayer) in Sedalia, Mo. Rough grading and erection of a pre-engineered building took place before Graycor’s mobilization. Interior construction covered a 10-acre area within a building shell situated on a 60-acre site. The project included site work (paving, finish grading, sewers and landscaping) and concrete work.

Extensive temporary exterior protection erected early on by Graycor provided shelter from the winter’s elements, alowing concrete pours to proceed on schedule.

The completed project enabled Louis Rich to employ more than 1,000 workers and process approximately 8 million turkeys annually.
