Graycor Construction completed this 100,000-square-foot build-to-suit for Argonne National Laboratory, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s largest research centers.

The research center, which houses 2,900 employees, including approximately 1,000 scientists and engineers, includes laboratories, offices – both private and shared – a cafeteria and kitchen areas, and several conference rooms.

Argonne occupies 1,500 wooded acres in DuPage County, Ill., about 25 miles southwest of Chicago’s Loop. The site also houses the U.S. Department of Energy’s Chicago Operations Office.
