Graycor Construction completed construction of a new intensive care unit and rehabilitation/therapy department for Advocate Health Care’s South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Ill. The project, a joint venture with Gary, Ind.-based general contractor Powers & Sons, included construction of a new two-story, 40,000-square-foot steel and concrete building, as well as a basement attached to the main hospital.

The new three-level wing holds 20 ICU rooms and rehabilitation and physical/occupational therapy. In addition, the wing accommodates new equipment and design standards. The project also included new construction of a loading dock and new parking facilities.
